The Complete Milliner (Beginners Level) - SUMMER 2019
To be held in Liverpool.
An extremely successful 16 day class runnning throughout June and July 2019 - one not to miss for all budding new milliners.
Denise Innes-Spencer will take you through the basic techniques every new milliner needs to know. From blocking a straw and a felt to making basic fascinators and even producing your own manufactured collection. This course is ideal for someone who wants to start a new business.
Each day runs from 9.30 to 15.30 at Estuary Business Park, Speke, Liverpool. The schedule for this course is as follows:
|Week 1: Monday 10th June 2019 to Tuesday 11th June 2019 (2 days)|
|Week 2: Monday 17th June 2019 to Friday 21st June 2019 (5 days)|
|Week 3: Monday 24th June 2019 (1 day)|
|Week 4: Monday 1st July 2019 to Thursday 4th July 2019 (4 days)|
|Week 5: Monday 8th July to Thursday 11th July 2019 (4 days)|
The basic millinery techniques you will learn are:
- How to block a straw hood.
- How to block woven sinamay.
- Trimming teachniques in straw and sinamay.
- How to block and wire lace.
- How to make a birdcage veil.
- How to produce hats and fascinators from ready-made components.
- How to trim manufactured hats.
Supplies are not included in the price of this course. The materials can cost up to £150.00 - which must be paid up front and supplies used deducted from this. You will be refunded for the balance if you do not use the full amount.
You can expect to make 4 or 5 hats depending on the degree of difficulty.
